Skirmish

Fall fast onto the shore
The beating of oars - replaced by the beating of clubs an swords
Clash with speed - break their lines
Crush their spirits with fear
confound them with ferocity
The battle sought, must be the battle won
No more the pieties of peace time
No more the mirth
Of cowards and merchants - of women and fools
Power - savagery
Fight - strive
For honour and for survival
Our enemies must fall
Our spears and knives
Must drink their fill
Of warriors Blood
-A furore Normannorum libera nos, Domine-
The lord provided signs of the coming fury
But none could foresee the beasts and the brutality
They've brought upon our heads
Lord forgot not thy servant
The lord is displeased with his servant
(Inspired by the Viking invasion of the British Isles, which commenced with the raid on Lindisfarne monastery, 793AD)

The Fury of the Sea
04:33
|
|||
The waters lapped against the shore
Vacant and ceaseless as ever before
Yet, silent, the wind carried
The sails of those who brought
The fury of the sea
None could escape
When the island drowned
In a tide of blood
The feeble and the strong
man, woman and child
All were hunted
Like seal or game
The gore-strewn beaches
Were seen across the narrow water
Out to sea the wind carried their cries
Where they fell unheard into the ceaseless waves
Upon the cliffs, across the narrow waters
Wailing and tearing, the lord beheld
All he ever knew and loved murdered
(Inspired by the Rathlin Island massacre, 1575AD)

Fallen altars once glorified
Now neglected in desecration
Plunder the shrines of the once honoured dead
Contaminate the sacraments
Soil the oblations
Your names shall be forgotten
Your line shall be extinguished
To your god:
An offering of mockery and flame
His displeasure with you
Is multiplied in our scorn
(Inspired by the siege of Jersualem, 70AD)

Conquerors
06:35
|
|||
Dawn breaks - Light falls
On places unseen by your eyes
Rise out from this land
Leave behind the comforts of places known
Journey to where glory waits
And holy crusade is made
Where the courageous overcome
Where men forge themselves
In the fires of battle
And the Heart is hardened
Await the holy sign of victory
To sanctify this struggle
To transcend this Earth
The Flesh must be destroyed
The path of the Godly is beset by trials
Manifest thy destiny through conquest
(Inspired by the First Crusade, 1095-1099AD)

The Silence of the Grave
08:12
|
|||
Amidst crooked monuments...
In a cold decayed Earth...
Here, where corpses come to rest
I come to contemplate
Even the wind scarce ever rattles through these stones
The names of the dead are all forgotten
Their burial places unmarked
That yawning void eternity haunts my night
I cannot sleep for fear of death
Fathers, mothers, daughters, sons
All life shall cease
and all flesh will rot
Yet the fire, that animates this body
Cannot fathom extinction
It claws and burns at my insides
and bids me not to sleep
For sleep too much resembles
The silence of the grave

Dominion
05:30
|
|||
Gather ye sons and brothers for the fight
Unite beneath this noble North-man's banner
March across this barren land
Where a foreign frost has choked the soil
Long grievance has fostered our hate
Reclaim our lost dominion
By right we cannot fail,
but by fate - we shall fall
Prove ye not unworthy
Shame not the spirit of Brían Borúmha Mac Cennétig
Falter not before the enemy
Divide not our ranks
Turn not the other cheek
Cast out your pity
Ready for war
(Inspired by Hugh O'Neill's rebellion and the battle of Kinsale, 1601AD)
