In this album the artist did an absolutely remarkable job of fulfilling their aims and conveying the sickening, suffocating dread that all of us who are drawn to this kind of music have wallowed through at some time in the past. A harrowing and driving journey of emotion, expertly dashing between dissonance and powerful consonance (as another person said) in a way that takes you on a scary-yet-smooth journey through ripping thorn thickets and out into a blessedly open clearing, before plunging you back into the thicket in your mad dash. The concept is rock solid, the non-Western scales are refreshing and are excellently hammered into both dissonant and non-dissonant moods, the songwriting is very well crafted.
